HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL

Surprise!!!!!

Shocked????

Fall off your chair????

I have not Blog posted for a very long time.

Every time I do Blog Post, I wonder why I don't do it more often.  Then I make myself a small promise that I will not get behind again and I will post more often.  Then I always brake that promise.  :(

It's Easter and we are very excited to be spending some lovely time with our little family.

Eva understands the meaning behind Christmas and has been asking questions, which I love.

Good Friday was a day spent at home, relaxing and doing a little bit of a declutter in the garage.

Easter Saturday was a wonderful day.  We are members at the Caulfield Race Track and we went to the event that they hold there every year.

It's Zaidee's rainbow foundation - organ and tissue awareness.  The story behind Zaidees foundation is a sad one.  But what her parents have done in her honour is amazing.

I am so grateful to have healthy children.

This Easter Egg Hunt is held every year and its great for awareness for the cause.    There were thousands of Easter Eggs.  Each registered child received a cute little Egg Bucket for their collection.

Firstly, it was the 0 - 4 age children.  Oliver and Chris both went in and collected a bucket full of Eggs.  Oliver was so super excited.

Then it was the 5 - 8 years old, so both Eva and Mae went in this one.  Eva has it all worked out, if she aimed to get the little solid eggs, she would fit more in, and its the same amount of chocolate as the larger hollow ones.  Smart thinking Beebs.

Mae also did well with the solid eggs, but she also really wanted the larger ones as she liked the colours.

I scored well, as I finally got my Melbourne Racing Club golf umbrella that I have wanted for ages.

There were pony rides, jumping castles, rock climbing and more that filled out our day.

One of the best things is that the television series of The Block was doing some filming there.  It you are a fan of The Block, you would know that the current series is being filmed here in South Melbourne.  The Block Heads were participating in a challenge to win money towards their renovation for the five storey unit block.

Five couples competed in the race up the main straight of the track.  There were five zorb balls.  One of the couples inside the ball and the other rolled it the 350 metres up the track to the finish line.  It must have been exhausting, as the winners were extremely puffed.  Even though the series isn't on the television for another few months, I'll keep the winner a secret.

I had mentioned to Eva and Mae to get in front of the cameras as much as they could.  They took my advise and even went into an area that was out of bounds, amongst the camera and press crew.  They didn't seem to mind, so Chris, Oliver and I joined in too!

We managed to get the three kids into a couple of photos, one with Scotty Cam and the other with Shelly Craft.  They are both very lovely.

It was a great end to a brilliant day, topped off by a gorgeous slow cooker Mediterranean lamb meal that Chris had put in the slow cooker before going out.  It was so yummy, perfect for a cool night.

I would share the photos on this Blog, however I still have no idea what I am doing with iTunes and don't know how to get my photos off of my phone to the computer.

Easter Sunday only started at around 7:30 am when Mae woke up, had a sneak peek downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny had arrived, then jumping into bed with Chris and I.

We waited about twenty minutes for Oliver to join us and we were soon greeted by Eva.

We all came downstairs together and saw that the Easter Bunny had spoiled our children.  Along with the many eggs they got yesterday at the races, I don't think that the Easter Bunny realised that they would have so many.

Each got a pair of pj's as well as well as some colouring pages and crayons.  Eva and Mae got gorgeous shower caps and Oliver got a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DVD (a very old school dvd that I'm sure Chris saw when he was younger).
I'm excited to get the kiddies dressed into their new pj's and post a photo of that.  So cute.

We haven't had the best weather here today.  A top of 22 degrees and it was cold and rainy.  So the morning was spent here at home, on Skype with Nanny and Poppy and opening our gift from them.  It's too good to eat!

Thank you Nanny and Poppy for our gorgeous Easter Gift

Olivers Basket with Leonardo pj's

Eva's Basket, with diamante purple shower cap and min n match pj's.

We went to the movies to see The Croods this afternoon.  It was funny, but I wasn't expecting the little bit of sadness in the end, having to hold hands and wipe tears away from Eva and Mae.

The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing, (after doing the floors of course, as they were a disgrace), watching some Ninja Turtles and right now, Chris is preparing another one of his MasterChef yummy meals, pork rissoles with creamy mash and onion gravy.  Yummo.

Happy Birthday today to Aunty Nette and Holly Mercy.  We wish we were closer to see you.

Happy Easter to your family from mine.

See you soon.

I really thought, for some strange reason, that I would start to have more time in my day.  I really thought that I would have time to regulary blog again.
Boy, was I wrong.

With after school activities every afternoon, the gym in the morning, I have just a few hours from lunch time till school pick up to get my daily chores done and have dinner ready. Not to mention a little 'feet up' time, which is exactly what the doctor has ordered for this heel pain issue I've been battling with for months now.

It's only been three days into my new routine and MAN, I'm buggered.

In the last week, Mae has started school in Prep, Eva started grade 2, Oliver is learning to live the day without his Mae, the girls have started a new dance school and Mae lost her first tooth!

I have finally uploaded photos from our holidays in Queensland over Christmas and can't wait to share them with you.  I'm so pleased that I bought a tripod to go with our camera, as that has allowed for many group shots.
I only wish I got more of the important people to me in my life.

Enjoy the photos and I'll see you soon.

Has it really been 12mths since moving to Melbourne?

Wow, a blog post.......it's only been 14 months

So much for me saying that I'll do my blog really often so people bach home in Queensland can see what we are up to.  I've been so slack.

What I have really been doing is settling into Melbourne life and loving it.  The move here was very smooth, but we certainly did have a bumpy ride through the year.

Between Oliver having a broken leg, spending over a week in hospital with croup, Eva braking her arm on the monkey bars at school and Mae having a hernia operation, it was a great year.

The move to Melbourne was no doubt easier due to us meeting some wonderful people.  We can now honestly say that we have great friends here in Melbourne.

Now, I could use this post to recap on all the things that I should have been blogging about over the past 15 months, but that is just too difficult.
I have been wanting to get back into blogging about my family for many months now, but the 'catch up' blog was going to be a nightmare.  Hence why I am not going to do one and just start from scratch.

So, thank you for reading and I thank you in advance for reading future blog posts about us.

Been Busy Busy Busy

Boy oh boy have the last few days been busy.

Starting off on Saturday, Eva and Mae both had 5 hours at their dance studio for a dance concert rehearsal for all of the students.

Bright and early on Sunday morning, we were at the Civic Centre for Full Dress Rehearsal for next Saturdays dance concert.  We dropped Oliver off to our good friend Kelli's house to be minded while we were there.  The shift then changed at 9:30 when Kelli so kindly dropped Oliver back at home where his Grandma and Grandad took care of him.  The little gem slept most of the time for them, so that was great.

The rehearsals went great.  No Stress.  No Pain.  Let's hope the actual concert runs just as smoothly on Saturday.
My girls did a fantastic job in helping me while getting them ready and beaut on the stage.  So so adorable, don't you agree???

Beautiful Butterflies

On Sunday afternoon, we went to Mae's Kindy for a break up BBQ.  I was quite sad, as it was my third year in a row I had gone (introduction before Eva started, break up for Eva / Intro for Mae and then Mae's break up)  I love that Kindy and I don't want to leave it - sniff sniff.  Oliver is on the waiting list for 2016.  Hopefully we'll be back before he's due to start then.

Poor Oliver got his 18 month olf needles.  I can't believe he was 18 months old yesterday.  It feels like I only just had him, yet it feels like he's been around forever.  Poor bugger was asleep when he got jebbed, so he woke with a huge fright, but soon settled.  He has been a bit unsettled of late and throwing tantrums and whingy and being very unlike his normal happy self.  Yesterday, last night and tonight have been challenging.  He's excused for tonight, given his needles, but there's no excuse tomorrow night Buddy.  Be good for Mummy and Daddy.

Looking forward to having Chris join us tomorrow night, until we all head down to Melbourne in the first week of January, when we start our 'new way of living'.

We received our new telephone number for Melbourne today - that's another step that's making this all so real.

Looking forward to a wonderful week ahead, with lots of celebrations, concerts, awards and prep graduations. Will tell you all about those later.

Lovely Queensland Weather

The kids and I went for a lovely walk this evening after dinner.  These hot days have sure been hot, but the evenings are just beautiful.  The breeze is so lovely and great to be out in.

After doing Paper, Scissors, Rock to determine who was going to hold Lucy's lead first, we set out for our walk.  Eva won.

First, I had Oliver in the pram but once we got across the road, I decided that he really should be getting out and enjoying it too.

Gosh he's a character.  He finds a lump of dry leaves and giggles to himself while stopping in them, he potters behind us blabbering stuff to the girls and Lucy and gets cranky is you don't acknowledge him.  He was also picking the tiny little weed flowers from the grass and walking with one in each hand.  After a few metres he realised he'd dropped them and he'd turn around to try and find them and put his two hands up saying 'gone'!

Mae had jumped onto one of those green Energex power box thingos that you see around - well of course Oliver had to do the same thing.  To that one and the next three that he saw.  So cute that he loves to copy his big sisters.  Trouble is, we walk this path often and he's got a good memory.

What wasn't cute was the few tantrums he decided to throw when he wouldn't hold my hand to cross the road.  Therefore I had to pick him up with arms and legs flapping about.  As soon as we'd crossed the road, I put him back down and he's right to go again with his body moving forward and faster than his feet could.

You can be cute buddy, but boy oh boy you can really test my paitience.

Eva really enjoyed practising her handstands and cartwheels on each nice bit of lawn that she saw.  Of course, Oliver copied as well.  This was also so cute to watch, but not so cute when Eva decided to do it on someones footpath who had recently spread fertisiler over it.  So when it was Olivers turn for his head stand, he had some pretty smelly dirt on his head.  Eewwww.

Mae's favourite part of the walk was holding Lucy's lead.  She loved being the one telling Eva what to do and explaining why the rope was called a 'lead'.  Wow, she knew things that I didn't think she did.  Just too smart.

Whilest walking, I wondered if we'll be doing much of this when living in Melbourne.  I know that the weather can be so different down there, but then again, it can be the same as here and hotter as well.

I have some lovely photos that I took while walking, but as my iTunes STILL does not work on my pc, I am unable to put them up.  Hopefully I will work it out soon.

We're up and running

It was all bittersweet last Monday when Fiona from the real estate came to take photos of our home to list for rent and also hammered in the renting sign at the front of the house.  I shed a little tear over that.

Within an hour, Chris rang to say that the home we wanted and applied for in Mulgrave had been approved.  Yey!  It was all so real right at that moment - we're moving to Melbourne!

It is all very exciting and scary, all at the same time.  I have countless things to do, like sorting out all the cupboards ready for packing, Christmas shopping, calling utilities to arrange the changeover, Tax (Ewww), finishing up family day care, and so on and so on.  The last thing I should be doing is sitting at the computer.  But since my lovely new design was placed on my Blog today, I just HAD to use it.

I am very much looking forward to sharing all of our families Front Page News with you in The George Gazette.

Stay tuned.
